Chemical additives used in a cooling system are known as Supplemental Coolant Additives (SCA's). SCA's develop a film-forming inhibitor that protects cooling system metals from corrosion while maintaining an alkaline balance. They chemically tie-up the "hardness" of the coolant to prevent build-up of rust and scale. Coolant filters from Wix contain the additives needed to properly maintain your cooling system. Wix also offers liquid and dry forms of Supplemental Coolant Additives.
Protect metals in the cooling system from corrosion.
Keep the engine free of sludge and mineral scale buildup.
Has no harmful effects on hoses and nonmetallic parts in the cooling system.
Provides cavitation erosion protection
Eliminates harmful effects of electrolysis
Reduces downtime and maintenence costs by extending equipment life.
Is compatible with ethylene and propylene glycol based anti-freezes.
Remember: Always follow the engine manufacturers' recommendations when servicing coolant filters or using other forms of coolant additives
