Air Filter Restriction Indicators
The service interval for heavy duty air filters can be based on a number of different factors. Miles traveled, hours of operation, and dust conditions are the most common.
The most cost effective method is the use of a restriction indicator. It's virtually impossible to dictate how long an air filter will last before it plugs. A restriction monitor is a useful tool to determine when an air filter needs to be replaced. The environments to which engines are subjected to can vary greatly, changing service intervals.
Many new equipment and vehicle manufacturers design air intake systems with a restriction monitor to help you with your service program. WIX offers several different types of air filter restriction monitors for new installations or replacement. As always, when servicing any air intake system, follow the manufacturers recommendations.
We carry part number 24800 at Filter1. This is a direct mount unit with 1/8" pipe thread. Remote units are also available, they come with a 10 foot hose and mounting bracket.
